Hiten Patel < Back to Who We Are
Vice President

Born in Malawi, Africa, Hiten was involved with family owned independent hotel properties at an early age after moving to the United States in 1982. Officially, his first hotel venture was in 1996, his responsibilities included supervising the construction of a hotel in downtown Chattanooga while attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Hiten gained significant management experience and invaluable hands on knowledge while serving as manager for the hotel for 5 years after opening. Hiten graduated the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a degree in Chemistry in 2001. After graduation, he began an internship with Aventis Pharmaceutical Company in Chattanooga. Within a year, Hiten was promoted to a Quality Systems Supervisory position and relocated to the Nashville, Tennessee location.

Hiten was responsible for the planning, implementation, and administering of the Quality Assurance program for the entire facility. His responsibilities also included administering the EH&S Program and ensuring that all operations were in compliance with all Federal, European, State, and Local regulations, as well as company adherence to all Aventis Pharmaceutical procedures and policies. It was his personal responsibility to certify that all audit reviews conducted by the FDA and GHA (German Health Authority) were distributed companywide to ensure compliance to deliver outstanding audit scoring when inspected by both the GHA and FDA.

As the Director of Development & Acquisitions for VISION Hiten has successfully overseen six upscale hotel-builds from ground breaking to the official door opening. His oversight begins immediately upon the approval of a project deal. His task list is lengthy, from working alongside the architect and engineers to reviewing plans with ownership and contractors. Furthermore, it is his responsibility to work in conjunction with city and state officials to obtain permits and licenses ensuring that all aspects of the project are up to code. His tasks include dealing directly with the lender on pre-opening ordering and organization as well as reviewing and processing of all pay requests from contractors and vendors prior to the management turnover when the project is complete. Hiten played an instrumental role in the pursuit of Silver LEED Certification for the Hampton Inn & Suites Chattanooga Downtown, thoroughly researching the outlined specifications to determine the tier we could qualify for with the project.
